First, let me say that this review is way long overdue but this experience was nothing short of amazing!!! The entire process was smooth and my partner and I had such a great time. We decided last minute (the day before my birthday back in mid July) to book a helicopter ride but everything seemed to be booked and when we were about to give up we came across Honolulu Helicopter Tours. I called and Alex helped to make a smooth hassle free transaction. I’ve always been afraid of heights but when we met with Alex the following day he made us feel so comfortable and secure that I actually enjoyed every minute of the ride. The views were SO worth it. We are in love with Hawaii and give Alex a warm thank you for such an unforgettable experience!! 😍 ~ Stephanie A

On our 25th anniversary, we embarked on an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend the 60-minute no-doors tour, which offered breathtaking views and captured cherished memories. The opportunity to witness such a unique experience in Hawaii was truly blessed. Our pilot, Scott, was exceptionally courteous and knowledgeable throughout the entire journey. FYI… 60 minutes was just perfect. We were able to experience a lot of the things that was on our itinerary. One thing we would’ve done different is probably done everything that was on the itinerary and maybe do the helicopter tour last but it’s OK we wouldn’t change it for the world.!🌎 totally would recommend it request Scott very knowledgeable and it just made it even more fun and exciting!!! ~ Laura M

This experience was absolutely jaw-dropping and I recommend it to everyone. My girlfriend and I did the 60 minute tour and it felt like 10 minutes. We looked at each other in amazement at least five times. Our pilot Stefan was super informative and very funny, and made us feel safe (we went with the Doors Off option which was scary for a few minutes but then you get more comfortable). He would check in on us every few minutes just to make sure we were good. Everything was very professional and smooth. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend. I would consider booking towards the beginning of your trip like we did in case you have to postpone due to weather. The last couple of days of our trip it was very windy and/or rainy and we kept saying to each other how lucky we were to have booked it early. ~ Luis R

The tour was simply amazing. The views of Oahu we got were very fascinating. Stefan did a marvelous job describing what to expect and during the flight he was very personable and informative. Played some good music during the flight and took us to view the best spots in the island. Flying over the waterfall was my favorite part of the flight along with the fortune of getting to see the whales in the water from above. Even got an amazing shot of my Jordan starfish sneakers for my @lvn_la_vida_snkrs In IG. Flight was very smooth and we all had a very good time. I definitely recommend anyone visiting to go on this tour and if you live on the island and have not done it I recommend it too. I’m sure you will see parts of the island you have never seen before. ~ J D

My wife gave me a helicopter tour for our anniversary, and it was an experience I will never forget. After 3 days of seeing the sights of Oahu, we boarded a cruise ship and spent a week seeing the four major islands - which were spectacular. Our last day here, we took our very first helicopter ride. It was easily one of the best things about our trip to Hawaii. The views from the helicopter were stunning, and we saw things we couldn’t have seen from a car or bus. We chose Honolulu Helicopter Tours. Scott was our pilot - and he was outstanding. He has had a great deal of experience flying and he knows the island of Oahu. He shared tidbits of history and geography. We felt very safe. We took dozens of photos and videos. We had the hour tour and it went way too fast. Wendi booked the tour, sent detailed instructions about how to get there and gave us a thorough orientation for what to expect. ~ Janis M

What an outstanding experience! We loved every moment of this private tour, from the personal greeting at the gate and the casual - yet already immersive golfcart ride to take us to the meeting point for our safety instructions to the unbelievable beauty we were able to be part of! We went to such intimate places nestled in the middle of the mountains that you simply would not be able to see up close without being in a helicopter. we covered the whole island, from views of Diamondhead to the North shore and over the Dole plantation. I was scared most of the ride, lol, without doors on is literally the most EXHILERATING adventure I have ever had and I can't wait to do it again!! Took a sunset flight with our pilot Alexey for my birthday. The company sent a very detailed email with check in instructions which was nice, so rest assured you will know when and where to be. We were checked in and picked up promptly from the security checkpoint. It only took about 15 mins upon entry to be briefed and for the helicopter to be checked and warmed up. We were given the option for doors on or off and then took off. During our hour long flight, Alexey took the time to point out things around the island and got us close to some waterfalls and noteworthy hiking spots. Despite very minimal to no wind during our flight, Alexey made the trip quite smooth and ensured we were able to see everything along the flight path. Highly recommend going with HHT for your flight around the island! ~ Kevin S

What an amazing experience. Seamless booking experience with Alex through the phone once referred be the Hotel. He provided exceptionally clear instructions to the location which otherwise would have been difficult to find but was easy to get to via Uber or even if you’re driving. My first ever helicopter ride and I’d gladly do it again with Honolulu Helicopters provided they provide the same amazing pilot in Bryli who was perfect in providing all the necessary reassurances for a first timer and was so cool and collected the entire flight. While it is not necessary to state, Bryli is one of a very few number of female pilots around Hawaii and what a privilege to have flown with her. Thanks for the great experience. ~ Wale M

Phillip & I spontaneously chose to take a 30 min helicopter jaunt over southwest part of Oahu. Fortunately, the company’s pilot (Alex) was avail. Meet & greet with our pilot, golf cart travel to trailer & to helicopter. Important protocols & logistics highlighted, refreshments (snacks & beverages), restroom facilities, care of personal body while in helicopter. Boundaries noted during communication gadget issuance. Tail & too propellers explained & why/how to respect & avoid hazards. Life jacket was issued as well… plus pilot offered grip lanyards that braced cell phones securely. Anyone who truly wants to see? Among all that has been an amazing Oahu trip filled with beauty and adventure, our 60-minute Honolulu Helicopter Tour with Alex was the ultimate highlight. We had done a doors-off helicopter tour in Kauai before, but this one was so much better. Alex was the best pilot/tour guide we could ask for and all the interaction we had with the crew leading up to our flight was friendly and professional. Honolulu Helicopter Tours has a family vibe to it and we definitely loved that. Our 4:30 departure gave us amazing views filled with golden light and the doors off was ideal for photography. Alex was amazing with our 13 year-old son who wants to be a pilot and this trip couldn't have been more inspiring for him. A Honolulu Helicopter Tour will be a must-do for all future trips to Oahu. This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Oahu! It is an amazing way to experience the island. From start to finish the tour was well planned. We arrived a bit late after hitting some traffic from Waikiki in our Uber, but the company was very understanding and flexible. We booked the 30 minute tour but would absolutely splurge on the full hr long in the future to really see it all! Our pilot Stefan was incredible across the board, from fun facts, a bumping playlist, to ensuring we felt safe and informed throughout the flight he was an awesome guide and pilot. So the flight is awesome. The island is ridiculously beautiful from the air and our pilot knew every crack and crevace and handled the helicopter excellently. But it's the staff that put this trip over the top. Kind, empathetic, genuinely awesome people you want to have a beer with. Valerie waited at the security gate for us while we cleaned puke (before the flight!) off our young son, and shared some harrowing stories of her own while taking us to the hanger. Stefan was entertaining, funny and a freaking great tour guide. Stopping scrolling just book it. I'm so grateful I found them first. Thanks guys on behalf of a VERY grateful family. My husband and I ended our wedding night with a helicopter tour over Honolulu and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Ryan was extremely easy to communicate with and he made us feel very comfortable and safe the entire time. He made the tour feel very personalized and catered to us every step of the way. Anyone who talks with Ryan can feel how passionate he is about flying helicopters and it enhanced our experience tenfold. Ryan also went above and beyond to help our videographer get the shots he needed! The tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend this company. As an Air Traffic Controller you see a lot of companies come and go so it's nice to see one that prioritized safety, while providing a fun and relaxing experience. Ryan walked us through all the details clearly. Stefan then provided a thorough safety briefing and a great tour of the island. We knew what to expect at every turn so we felt very comfortable. They tailored the experience to us knowing that I am prone to motion sickness and my wife didn't feel comfortable with doors off. They suggested she sit in the front and I was in the back with doors off (the cool breeze was awesome as was the view). Worked out perfectly. Thanks again! ~ Bryce

It was a very pleasant experience! We came there as a party of three (Father and two daughters aged 17&14) and had booked a 60min tour with doors off. The safety instructor, Valerie, was really kind, before the tour they offered free drinks and snacks. They also offered sunglasses in case one didn’t have any. Our pilot Stefan was really great. He was very relaxed and knew a lot about the island and gave us information as we flew. He even had a playlist with some good songs to which we could list to, over the headsets, while flying. The takeoff and landing were really smooth and overall it was a cool and fun way to see Hawaii from a different angle. I would highly recommend this, especially since it covers areas like the Diamond Head, where you usually have to hike your way up, or the Sacred Waterfalls which you don’t usually can see as a tourist. ~ rieke

Absolutely excellent experience! Many thanks to our professional, extremely skilled and fun pilot - Alex. My sister, her son and I were at first somewhat scared to step into a helicopter with no doors. Our pilot did an excellent job making us feel safe and calm and took us on a smooth and easy ride, where we made plenty of amazing pictures and videos. Somewhere midway we got really comfortable and changed our minds about being slow and easy - we felt so tough already. What followed next - Alex made sure we got some epic shots of adrenaline! The best helicopter tour company on the island! You will not regret booking with Honolulu Helicopter Tours. Ryan took us on a 30 minute sunrise tour and we could not have felt more safe or had a better guide. The views were breathtaking and there is simply no better way to explore the island than to take a tour like this! Attaching pictures feels like a disservice because they will never truly capture what you’ll see when you go for a doors off ride.
